10:00am-4:30pm, mostly sunny, breezy, 78°F
Coral Hairstreak, Hackberry Emperor and Northern Pearly-eye are new for the site. We were very lucky that the Coral Hairstreak was mineralizing in the middle of the path when we first encountered it. It was so tame that if had been off the path, it wouldn't have flushed and we may not have seen it.

Home garden, Fredon Twp.

A beautiful, sunny day from late morning on. Reporting this mainly because hairstreaks are few this year, and after we didn't record any here last year (after having a reliable small colony for several years), we didn't expect to see them back - and in the exact same spot where they always appear in late afternoon. This is also our first yard fritillary of the year.
