Most butterflies/skippers (including the Ocola) on Purple loosestrife in southern edge of the Glenhurst tract. Go through the gate, immediately turn right, to reach this area. Trails have not been mowed recently so are very grown-up with vegetation. Sulfurs and the Wild Indigo were at the community garden at Wagner Farm, just west of Glenhurst.

Observed while doing some mid-afternoon gardening. The Swallowtails, Fritillary and Monarch nectaring mainly on Buddleia. But, also on Ironweed, Joe Pye, Goldenrod and the last of the Bull Thistle. The Sulphur and Cabbage Whites on Purple Loosestrife, Wild Basil and Red Clover. A Spicebush Swallowtail has spent a good amount of time ovipositing on the Spicebush that is above the Ironweed.

9:45 M - ca. 1 PM. Minor overlap with Joe Burgiel and Marge Barrett. Swallowtails on sunflower, thistle, Orange milkweed; most skippers on the hyperabundant knapweed. Second Ocola this week. Fiery seen briefly but well, narrow dark borders with very jagged inner edges, but it left before I could photograph it and I could not relocate.
