Observed in the garden mid to late afternoon.
One yellow female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail checking out the tulip poplar above the Buddleia. A black female was nectaring on Buddleia. Eastern Tailed-Blue and Wild Indigo Duskywing on White Clover.

10 AM-noon. Swallowtails at last, most in the field immediately west of the River Road Park entrance, on Bull Thistle. ETB mostly associating with Crown Vetch. In the big field at Stahl proper, extensive mountain-mint in bloom but few butterflies on it. Only one individual grass-skipper.
