Milkweed flowers were once again small & died soon after opening; this year, the blossom end & upper leaves are showing distorted growth, some with many tiny, white-winged "leaf-hopping" insects (some with cottony-looking white fluff similar to mealy bugs) in the leaf axils. One plant had a cluster of milkweed tussock moth larvae on the underside of a leaf. Only 1 adult Monarch has been seen intermittently this summer.
