Passaic County, NJ

9:30 am to 2:30 pm. Very hot. Saw numerous Common Wood Nymphs throughout woods on long hike in dry, rocky, mountainous forest, acting much like Pearly Eyes, landing on side of tree trunks in dark woods. Even saw one harassing a Pearly Eye as if it wanted to mate, repeatedly chasing and landing next to it touching on side of tree.
