Kittatinny Valley State Park
Sussex County, NJ

1:35-2:10, sunny, low 90s. Fields adjacent to Goodale Rd. We ventured out into the heat hoping to see loads of swallowtails frolicking on the Wild Bergamot, but were pretty disappointed. Maybe it was too hot for the butterflies as well as for us! The lack of rain seems to have inhibited the usual spectacular Bergamot display here - fewer plants in flower, and all much shorter than normal.
